Stop Making Sense festival have hand-picked an unrivalled line up for their inaugural party. The event promises an expansive soundtrack, taking in everything from house, rock and roll, flamenco, disco, balearic, techno, south American/African sounds, blues, psychedelia, dubstep, soul and beyond.
Highlights include the globe-spanning beats of The Very Best and Radioclit, Friendly Fires’ massively popular DJ incarnation, Son of Dave’s new take on blues, Django Django’s garage rock, pristine electronica from Nathan Fake, future beat arbiter Benji B and decade-spanning UK music legend Richard Norris (also one half of Beyond The Wizard’s sleeve with Erol Alkan).
If all that wasn’t enough, lifting mind, body and spirit sky-high will be Detroit techno leaders old and new Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Theo Parrish, Patrice Scott, Keith Worthy and Kyle Hall. And, heading in from Glasgow via the world’s best clubs are none other than DJs par-excellence – Optimo.

Stop Making Sense festival is a round-the-clock experience with music starting at 12 noon and carrying on ‘til 6am. The all-night action takes place in the Barbarella Club – the perfectly-formed, circular space in the centre of the site.

Deviation (Saturday 23.00 – 06.00)
BBC 1Xtra star Benji B brings his radio extravaganza of forward-thinking music to the sunny shores with ultra-special guest Theo Parrish.
Swap-A-Rama (Sunday 23.00 – 03.00)
AKA “the most fun you can have with other people’s clothes on”!
The concept: every time the klaxons sound each reveler must swap an item of clothing with someone next to them.
Expect: ridiculous outfits, an unpredictable mix of rock & roll, R’n’B, sixties shakers, ska, boogaloo, dancehall and party classics. Add confusion, elation and grown men fighting over frocks. (There will be vintage clothes on washing lines strung out above the dancefloor, so no need to pack any extra items for this!)
Warm (Monday 03.00 – 06.00)
Renowned for downright messy parties across Europe, Warm head honchos Ali Tillett and Rob Summerhayes will be the sonic equivalent of an SMS grand finale firework display, and there won’t be a dry eye in the house!
Boat Party Listings
Movimientos (Friday 13.30 – 16.30) are all about the incendiary sound of the Latino Barrio, blazing tropical mash-ups and old school Latin bombs, alongside the choicest worldwide beats and ghetto bass. Featuring DJ Cal Jader, Sebilio, The Sea and guests, this tropical storm will be the perfect soundtrack to a blazing afternoon of dancing.
