The Correspondents are Mr Bruce and Chucks, who collaborate to revamp vintage sounds for the modern ear. Resuscitating sampled relics with squelchy synths over dusty drum loops they’ve depicted the trials and errors of Love, Lust and Loss over a foot-tapping toe curling amalgamation of Electro, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Swing and Boogie Woogie.

Starting out in November 2007, old friends Mr Bruce and Chucks, returned to London after a firm schooling at their respective Universities. In Leeds, Mr Chuckles had been tinkering with the sounds of Hip Hop, Jazz and Dance music for several years, meanwhile further north in Edinburgh Mr Bruce exerted his vocal dexterity over Drum ‘n’ Bass, Breaks & Funk. The unlikely pair cut their teeth at a few parties and decided to cement the live performance relationship in their makeshift recording studio. Since then tracks have been recorded, stages have been stomped and knees have hit nipples.

The Correspondents have played on stages big and small at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival & Camp Bestival, Shambala, Lovebox, The Big Chill, The Savoy, Koko, Camden Crawl, Kensington Palace, The Tower Of London, Scala, Somerset House, The Roundhouse,Musicbox- Lisbon, Le Balajo- Pairs, Shepard’s Bush Pavillion, Proud Galleries, Corsica Studios, Concord 2, The Battersea Arts Centre, Bloomsbury Bowls, Art Car Boot Fair, Bungalow 8, Last Days Of Decadance, The Scoop, Notting Hill Arts Club and their home stomping ground, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club.

The debut EP What’s Happened to Soho? Has landed and is a mini-concept in itself with a beginning, middle and end, which is intended to be listened to from start to finish and references numerous different genres while settlingon none.
